How to use Plus-sell Timer feature

The best way to encourage your customers to shop more is by offering incentives. With Plus-sell you can offer free shipping for the whole order placed via Plus-sell, a discount for the additional items they add to their order via Plus-sell, or a mystery gift when they place an order via Plus-sell. You can also create urgency for the customers by pairing these incentives with a timer – so the customers have a limited time to use these benefits.

How does the Plus-sell timer work?

When you have Plus-sell discounts, free shipping or a gift enabled, you can also enable a timer. When the timer is enabled, your customers will see a small clock counting backwards on the Thank-you page next to the product recommendations. So, they will know they have a limited time to add another item to their order and make use of the good deal they are offered.

How to enable Plus-sell discount?

1. Go to your webshop's backend/ admin panel.
   If you are in doubt where to find it, type "/admin" at the end of your webshop's URL.
   
   
2. Navigate to Swiipe Settings and select the Plus-sell tab. 
   On WooCommerce: WooCoomerce > Swiipe Settings
   
   
3. In the section Features, tick the box for Enable Timer for Plus-sell features.
   
   
4. In the box next to Timer value (minutes), enter how long you want the timer to run for.
   
   
5. Click Save changes.
   
   
6. Now, test the feature to ensure everything works as expected. 

Why use Plus-sell Timer?

Creating urgency for shopping paired with the special offers can encourage customers to shop more and do it sooner. Depending on the type of products you sell and your target audience, it could drive your sales higher.

However, if you sell products that usually take longer to decide on and maybe require some verification in regard to size, customization or product features, creating urgency might not be your best strategy.
