How to set up Discounts for Plus-sell orders

The best way to encourage your customers to shop more is by offering incentives. With Plus-sell you can offer your customers a discount for the additional items they add to their order via Plus-sell.

How does the Plus-sell discount work?

When you offer a discount for Plus-sell orders, the discount is first advertised on the Thank-you page, together with the Plus-sell product recommendations. The discount is only applied to the items added via Plus-sell and will have no effect on the original items in the order.

If the product added via Plus-sell was already on sale, the Plus-sell discount will be calculated from the final sale price of the product. If the customer has a different discount or coupon applied to their order, the Plus-sell discount will be applied together with it.

How to enable Plus-sell discount?

1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > General and select Enable coupons.
   
   
   
2. Navigate to Marketing > Coupons and ensure you can successfully create a coupon. This is just a check to ensure Swiipe can create needed coupons (such as for free shipping) automatically. You can then delete the coupon you created. 
   
   
   
3. Go to your webshop's backend/ admin panel.
   If you are in doubt where to find it, type "/admin" at the end of your webshop's URL.
   
   
4. Navigate to Swiipe Settings and select the Plus-sell tab. 
   On WooCommerce: WooCoomerce > Swiipe Settings
   
   
5. In the section Features, tick the box for Offer a discount for the Plus-sell product recommendations.
   
   
6. In the section Features, type in the desired discount in percentage.
   
   
7. Click Save changes.
   
   
8. Now, test the feature to ensure everything works as expected. 

Why offer discounts for Plus-sell orders?

Incentives can encourage customers to spend a little extra on their order and to shop more often. It can also strengthen your relationship with your customers, as most customers appreciate unexpected discounts, gifts, and similar treats.
