The best way to encourage your customers to shop more is by offering incentives. With Plus-sell you can offer your customers a small gift to encourage them to add more items from your product recommendations.
How does a Gift feature work?
By default, when you first set up Plus-sell on your webshop, the gift feature is disabled. You can enable it under the Swiipe Plus-sell settings in your admin panel.
When the feature is enabled, your customers are informed about it from the start. We automatically change the headline and the GIF animation to focus on the gift instead.
When a Plus-sell purchase is placed while the Gift feature is enabled, we add an order note to let you know that the customer expects a gift in this order.
On WooCommerce, we will also show a little gift icon in the order overview page.
To see this, ensure to select Swiipe under Screen Options, in the Order page.
The only thing you need to do is to ensure to add a gift to these orders.
Also note that we apply a limit of one gift per order, regardless of how many times the customer updates their order via Plus-sell - it is still just one order.
How to enable Gift feature
- Go to your webshop's backend/ admin panel.
If you are in doubt where to find it, type "/admin" at the end of your webshop's URL. - Navigate to Swiipe Settings and select the Plus-sell tab.
On WooCommerce: WooCoomerce > Swiipe Settings
On Magento > System > Swiipe > Settings
On PrestaShop > Modules > Module Manager > Swiipe > Configure - In the section Features, tick the box for Offer a free gift with the first Plus-sell order.
- Now, test the feature to ensure everything works as expected.
What Gifts should I give to my customers?
What makes a good Plus-sell gift highly depends on your business type and what you have available.
Various tester items are perfect for a gift, whether it is cosmetics, candy, or something else.
Another option is to use some small items that you already sell. Items that are inexpensive for you to purchase in bulk (e.g., hair accessories, small battery packs, etc.), but cost up to 100 kr. for your customers. Giving these items as gifts could really impress your customers, increase your revenue, and even turn more of your first-time customers into returning customers.
Alternatively, if you partner with some other brands, you could give their tester products as gifts. Even if you only sell paint, you could still have candy, hand lotion, or even some stationary supplies as gifts.
Overall, when it comes to gifts, look for items that are especially relevant to your customers, or items that could be relevant to most households. Try to avoid items that have very specific use, and are only relevant to a small number of people. For example, if you have a craft or knitting store, giving a bag of stitch markers is an excellent gift for your customers. However, the same gift would be a terrible choice for a pet store.

Keep in mind that regardless of what gifts you offer, the most important part of your Plus-sell setup is the quality of your product recommendations.
